Objective: To discuss the effects of five-element music & Chinese Medicine gut purging exercise in bowel preparation for patients of colonoscopy. Methods: 146 patients preparing for routine colonoscopy are randomly divided into 2 groups: 73 patients in observation group, 73 patients in control group. Patients in the control group used PEG-ELS for bowel preparation; patients in the observation group used five-element music and Chinese Medicine gut purging exercise. The stress reactions of patients were observed in both groups, as well as the quality of bowel preparation, adverse reactions and patients' endurance to bowel preparation. Results: After bowel preparation, and 5 min before endoscopy check, systolic pressure, diastolic pressure and heart rate of patients in observation group were lower than those in control group(t value: 3.214, 3.085, 4.216). Quality score of preparation of right hemicolon, colon transversum, left hemicolon was higher than those of patients in control group(Z value:-2.997,-2.338,-2.551,-2.939). The total scores of nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, distension and adverse reactions were lower than those of control group(Z value were -2.392,-2.023,-3.197,-3.368, respectively), and bowel preparation endurance was higher than that of control group(χ2 value was 9.505), the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). There was no significant difference in general fatigue, palpitation and cold sweat between the two groups(P>0.05). Conclusion: Five-element music and Chinese Medicine gut purging exercise can reduce the stress response of patients for bowel preparation, improve the quality of bowel preparation and improve patient's tolerance for bowel preparation. |
