Objective: To explore the clinical advantages of endoscopic thyroidectomy via thoracic areola approach in the treatment of benign thyroid disease. Methods: From 2020 to 2022, there were 40 patients with endoscopic thyroidectomy(endoscopic group) and 40 patients with traditional open surgery(open group) through the thoracic areola approach, and the following indicators were retrospectively compared: postoperative hospital stay, operation time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative drainage volume, inflammatory factor interleukin-6, postoperative pain score, postoperative complications including hoarse voice, hypocalcemia twitching, and aesthetic satisfaction. Results: Endoscopic thyroidectomy via thoracic areola approach in the treatment of benign thyroid disease is safe and effective with no increase in complications, intraoperative bleeding, postoperative drainage, postoperative pain score, postoperative inflammatory factors, and postoperative beauty satisfaction in the endoscopic group were significantly better than those in the open group(all P<0.05). Conclusion: Endoscopic thyroidectomy via transthoracic areola approach is safe and effective for the treatment of benign thyroid disease, which is worthy of popularizing and using clinically. |
