Objective: To explore the medication rules of Chinese herbal compounds for treating asthma based on the CNKI patent database. Methods: Chinese herbal compounds for treating asthma were searched in the CNKI patent database until July 11th, 2022.Statistical analysis was conducted on the frequency, taste, meridian and efficacy classification of the drugs that met the inclusion criteria in the compounds to discover core drugs, drug combinations and new prescriptions. Results: A total of 406 Chinese herbal compounds were included, involving 1 005 Chinese herbs, with a total medication frequency of 5 270 times. The Chinese herbs with the highest frequency of use were ranked as follows: Ephedra, Licorice, Apricot Kernel, Schisandra and Perilla Seed. The properties of the drugs were mainly warm, neutral and cold, while the tastes were mainly bitter, pungent, and sweet, with most of them belonging to the lung, spleen, and heart meridians. The drug efficacy was mainly focused on relieving cough and resolving phlegm, tonifying lung Qi, and dispelling wind and cold. Three new prescriptions were discovered with correlation analysis of core drugs. Conclusion: Chinese herbal compounds for treating asthma mainly focuses on relieving cough and resolving phlegm, promoting lung ventilation, tonifying lung Qi, nourishing spleen and kidney, and promoting diuresis and reducing swelling. The combined use of core drugs and the exploration of new drugs can provide references for future clinical practice. |
