Objective: To investigate the expression of miR-193a and IL17RD in thyroid carcinoma, and analyze the relationship with clinicopathological features of thyroid carcinoma. Methods: The frozen tissues from pathologically confirmed thyroid cancer (88 cases), thyroid adenoma (31 cases), Hashimoto's thyroiditis (26 cases), nodular goiter (12 cases) and normal thyroid gland (18 cases) were collected. Western blot, real-time quantitative PCR were used to analyze the expression of miR-193a and IL17RD in the tissues. The relationship with clinicopathological features of thyroid carcinoma was explored. Results: Compared with normal thyroid tissue, the expression of miR-193a in Hashimoto's thyroiditis, thyroid adenoma and thyroid cancer tissue were significantly decreased, while the expression of IL17RD was significantly increased (all P<0.05).The expression of miR-193a and IL17RD protein in thyroid cancer tissue were related to the clinical features such as tumor size,clinical stage,histological grade and lymph node metastasis(P<0.05).There was a significant negative correlation between the expression of miR-193a and IL17RD (P<0.05). Conclusion: The expressionof miR-193a and IL17RD in thyroid cancer tissues are related to tumor size,clinical stage,histological differentiation, and lymph node metastasis.miR-193a may be involved in the progression of thyroid cancer by targeting IL17RD.
