Objective: To explore the effect of pelvic floor muscle exercise(PFMT) on the treatment of postpartum women with pelvic floor muscle function. Methods: 303 pregnant women were included and randomly divided into continuous guidance groups(156 cases) and control group(147 cases) from June 2015 to December 2016. PFMT health education, one-by-one guidance and regular follow-up were carried out in the continuous guidance group, while the regular health education was conducted in the control group. Grade Ⅰ and Ⅱ pelvic floor muscle fibers, mean muscle potential, fatigue status, maternal urinary incontinence(SUI), pelvic organ prolapse(POP) were compared at 6 weeks, and 3 months after delivery, respectively. Results: After 3 months of intervention, grade Ⅰ-Ⅴ of pelvic floor muscle strength was significantly improved in continuous guidance group(P<0.05), while only grade Ⅲ and Ⅴ of muscle strength were significantly improved in the control group. With regard to the results detected in 3 months, compared to the control group, grade Ⅲ-Ⅴ of pelvic floor muscle in the continuous guidance group recovered more significantly(P<0.05), and pelvic floor muscle electrical activity values in the continuous guidance group were significantly higher than those in the control group. The pelvic floor muscle fatigue value was less than that of the control group with statistically significant difference(P<0.05). The SUI prevalence rate(10.26%) was significantly lower than that of the control group(21.09%). The proportion of 0-degree POP was significantly higher compared to the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion: pelvic floor muscle exercise continuous guidance with at least 3 months in postpartum women can help recovering postpartum pelvic floor muscle strength, reducing the prevalence of SUI, and improving the quality of life for postpartum women. |
