Objective: To investigate the expression of calpain small subunit-1 (Capn4) and nuclear transcription factor-kappaB2 (p52) in colon cancer and its clinical significance.The correlation between Capn4 and p52 involving the development and progression of colon cancer is investigated. Methods: The expressions of Capn4 and p52 in seventy cases with colon cancer tissue and Thirty-five cases with normal colon mucosa tissueare detected by immunohistochemistry. And to analyze the relationship between the expression of them and clinicopathological features of colon cancer. Results: The expression of Capn4 and p52 in colon cancer tissue (74.3%,70.0%,respectively)is significantly higher than normal colon mucosa tissue(22.9%,31,4%,respectively)(P<0.05). The expression of Capn4 and p52 is significantly correlated with depth of infiltration,TNM staging and lymph node metastasis (P<0.05),but there is not correlated with age,sex and differentiation grade of colon cancer(P>0.05). And the expression of Capn4 and p52 is positively correlated(r=0.869,P<0.05).Conclusion: In colon cancer,Capn4 and p52 are high-expression,suggesting that Capn4 and p52 may involve the development and progression of colon cancer.The expression of both is positive correlated,suggesting that Capn4 may play a role in colon cancer by non-canonical NF-kappaB signaling pathway. |
