The effect of the method about four steps to pull out the needle applying to intravenous infusion in clinic // Tao Xumei, Wu minqin //( Department of Geriatric Neurology, Nanjing Brain Hospital, Nanjing Medical University, Nanjing 210029, China) Abstract: Objective To observe the effect of the method about four steps to pull out the needle applying to intravenous infusion in clinic.Methods 200 patients with intravenous infusion in hospital were randomly divided into the method about four steps to pull out the needle group and conventional method group. To observe the incidence of subcutaneous hemorrhage and ecchymosis after pulling out the needle in each group patients.Results The incidence of subcutaneous hemorrhage is 6% in four steps to pull out the needle method group is lower than 15% in conventional method group. And the incidence of subcutaneous ecchymosis is 16% in four steps to pull out the needle group is lower than 26% in conventional method group.Conclusion Applying the method about four steps to pull out the needle could significantly reduce the incidence of subcutaneous hemorrhage and ecchymosis and protect the veins.
