Objective To analyze clinical characteristics of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) validity of canalith repositioning procedure. Methods Clinical data of 92 cases with BPPV(treated between August 2010 and April 2013)were retrospectively analyzed. The appropriate repositioning maneuvers were performed after the types of BPPV were determined by positioning test..The effectiveness was observed in the next week and three months after treatment. Results Of the 92 patients, 60.9% were female, with a mean age of (46.5±12.3)years. There were 55 patients with the posterior semicircular canal BPPV and 30 patients with horizontal semicircular canal BPPV. Symptoms were subjective in minority patients. The total effective rate were 85.9%(7 days) and 95.6%(3 months) respectively. Conclusion Patients with BPPV have various clinical characteristics. It is very important to distinguish BPPV with other positional vertigo. Favorable efficacy were achieved by maneuver reposition. |
