Objective: To evaluate ureteroscopy as a treatment option for women presenting ureteral calculi during pregnancy after the useless of conservative treatment. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed all the cases that were diagnosed by ureteral calculi during pregnancy. For the treatment, we chose the conservative treatment as the first line, but when the conservative treatment failed, we resorted to ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy. Results: In all 43 cases, 28 cases were cured by the conservative treatment, 15 cases were cured by ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy with double-J insertion for 2-4weeks. Through follow-up until labor of these women, except 1 case requested abortion, 42 cases, whether underwent ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy or not, labored spontaneously and got a healthy baby. Conclusion: Ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy is an efficient and safe treatment for women presenting ureteral calculi during pregnancy after the failed of the conservative treatment. |
