[Abstract]  Objective  To observe the clinical efficacy of kangfuxin solution combined with Yunnan Baiyao and West medicine in 144 patients with distal ulcerative colitis. Methods  One hundred and forty-four patients with ulcerative colitis were randomly divided into three groups. 48 cases in The West group that was given dexamethasone 5mg，gentamycin 160 thousand U，normal sodium 100ml daily by etention enema for 4 weeks；48 cases in The TCM group that was given kangfuxin solution 100ml and Yunnan Baiyao 2 # daily by etention enema for 4 weeks；And 48 cases in The TCM that patients in combination group was given dexamethasone 5mg，gentamycin 160 thousand U，kangfuxin solution 100ml and Yunnan Baiyao 2 # daily by etention enema for 4 weeks；the therapeutic effects，The gastroscopy   examination and the serum levels of IL-8 and CRP were compared. Results The total effective rate of clinical symptom and gastroscopy   examination ，The serum levels of IL-8 and CRP in the TCM group was  not significantly difference than that in The West medicine group (P＞0.05)，and the combination group, the total efficiency of clinical symptoms, signs of change have electronic colonoscopy efficiency, IL-8, decreased CRP levels were higher than those in western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine alone group (P<0.05). Conclusion the clinical efficacy of kangfuxin solution combined with Yunnan Baiyao and West medicine in patients with ulcerative colitis was better than that in the West medicine group and TCM group.
