【Abstract】 Objective To analyze and describe epidemiological characteristics of hepatitis B from 1989 to 2009 in Futian District of Shenzhen. Methods Descriptive analysis was conducted on hepatitis B incidence from 1989 to 2009 in Futian district, using the data collected by the Infectious Disease Reporting System. Results The estimated annual incidence of hepatitis B in Futian District of Shenzhen during 1989-2009 was 32.17 per 105 persons. The incidence increased continuously from 46.94 per 105 persons in 1989 to 114.79 per 105 persons in 1991 (peak), and then decreased steadily to 4.11 per 105 persons in 2009 (lowest). Overall, the incidence of hepatitis B was higher among residents than among transient population. The total number of patients infected by hepatitis B was 20-29 year old and little different by month. The male-female ratio of incidence was 2.55:1. The most popular occupations of infected patients were clerks and workers, which together accounted for 61.66% of all infections. Conclusions Prevention and control on hepatitis B in Futian District of Shenzhen from 1989-2009 has achieved significant success, we should take more measures to prevent hepatitis B. |
