Abstract: Objective To explore the Clinical effect of Nickel-titanium shape memory alloy embracing fixator for the treatment of multiple rib fractures．Methods The data in surgical treatment group(47 cases, treated with Nickel-titanium shape memory alloy embracing fixator)and conservative treatment group(47 cases)were retrospectively analyzed and compared．Results All patients in surgical treatment group were cured. The pulmonary complications( infection, atelectasis), chest pain, length of stay, time of out-of-bed activity and fracture healing in surgical treatment group were significantly less than that in conservative treatment group(P<0.05)．Conclusion Nickel-titanium shape memory alloy embracing fixator is a simple and effective method for the treatment of multiple rib fractures, which is in favor of safe operation, stable fixation and early functional exercise after surgery．
