Abstract Objectives: To investigate the clinical application of internal carotid artery (ICA) stenosis angioplasty and stenting in cerebrovascular disease. Methods: Cerebral angiography was performed on 89 patients with cerebral infarction , 8 patients with brain blood supply insufficiency and 11 patients with transient ischemic attack, The stenosis of various degrees in internal carotid artery was detected. Angioplasty and stenting were performed in the stenosis segment of internal carotid artery. Results: angiography and stenting were successful in all 108 patients. The stenosis degree of mean diameter in internal carotid artery was reduced from 99% to 10% (p<0.01). No cerebral ischemic event occurred in all patients during the 0.5 to 3 years follow-up. Conclusions: The use of internal carotid artery stenosis angioplasty and stenting in the clinical treatment of cerebral ischemic patient is feasible. The recrrenced & disability rate of cerebrovascular disease were greatly reduced. It is worthy of clinical application. |
