Objective: To investigate the expression and significance of myeloid-related protein-8/14(MRP-8/14) in saliva and serum of patients with aggressive periodontitis.Methods: 85 patients with aggressive periodontitis treated in our hospital from January 2017 to March 2019 were selected as observation group, and 69 cases of healthy physical examination were selected as control group in the same period, periodontal examination was performed on the subjects, and the corresponding indicators were recorded, the level of MRP-8/14 was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA), amd the periodontal condition of the two groups was compared, the correlation between MRP-8/14 expression level with average depth of exploration(MPD) and bleeding on probing(BOP) in saliva and serum was analyzed by Pearson method, the diagnostic value of MRP-8/14 in saliva and serum was analyzed by receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC).Results: The probing depth(PD), attachment loss (AL) and BOP in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05); the saliva flow rate and non irritating total saliva pH level in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, the proportion of irritating total saliva, irritating total saliva MRP-8/14 level, serum MRP-8/14 level, irritating total saliva calcium level and serum calcium level were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05); the expression of MRP-8/14 in saliva was positively correlated with MPD and BOP in the observation group, and the expression of MRP-8/14 in serum was positively correlated with MPD and BOP(all P<0.05); the results of ROC analysis showed that the diagnostic value of saliva MRP-8/14 was higher than the diagnostic value of serum MRP-8/14, the sensitivity of saliva MRP-8/14 was 85.40%, the specificity was 62.22%, and the Youden index was 0.476; the sensitivity of serum MRP-8/14 was 77.10%, the specificity was 56.80%, and the Youden index was 0.339. Conclusion: The levels of MRP-8/14 in saliva and serum were significantly increased in patients with aggressive periodontitis, and the expressions of MRP-8/14 in saliva and serum are closely related to MPD and BOP, which plays an important role in the occurrence of aggressive periodontitis. |
