Objective:To investigate the expression levels and clinical significance of serum high mobility group box protein B1 (HMGB1),interleukin-6 (IL-6) and neutrophil gelatinase associated lipocalin (NGAL) inneonatal respiratory distress syndrome (NRDS),so as to provide reference for clinical NRDS prognosis and prognosis evaluation. Methods:Forty-six children with NRDS in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) of our hospital from July 2016 to March 2018 were selected as the observation group,and 30 healthy newborns born in the same period were selected as the control group.The children in the observation group were divided into mild group (n=27) and severe group (n=19) according to their condition,and divided into survival group (n=30) and death group (n=16) according to their prognosis.The levels of serum HMGB1,IL-6 and NGAL were compared between the observation group and the control group,as well as the NRDS newborns with different condition and prognosis.Results:Compared with the control group,the levels of serum HMGB1,IL-6 and NGAL in the observation group were significantly higher,the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Compared with the mild group,the serum HMGB1,IL-6 and NGAL levels in the severe group were significantly higher,the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Compared with the survival group,the serum levels of HMGB1,IL-6 and NGAL in the death group significantly increased,and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that the levels of HMGB1,IL-6 and NGAL were all related to the prognosis of NRDS(P<0.05). Conclusion:The serum levels of HMGB1,IL-6 and NGAL in children with NRDS significantly increase,and the degree of the increase is closely related to the condition and prognosis of the children.They can be used as the reference indexes for the condition of children with NRDS and the evaluation of prognosis.
